Nice hostel in beautiful surroundings

Montana Family & Youth hostel is located in beautiful surroundings up the hillside of Mount Ulriken, about 5 km south of Bergen City Centre. We have good bus connections (Bus 12). If you buy the "Bergen Card", you travel "free" and have free access to most of the many tourist attractions in Bergen. If you are travelling by car - we have excellent parking facilities free of charge for our guests.

Here in our youth and family hostel you will experience a friendly and informal atmosphere, whether you choose to visit us during a hectic summer season or some time off-season when things are a bit slower. Bergen is any way a city of throbbing life whenever you arrive.

From Montana you have a panorama view of the Bergen Valley, the City with its harbour, and even further out to the islands West of Bergen. An even more breathtaking view is offered if you hike from Montana to the top of mount Ulriken (45-60 minutes). In our reception you will get a map of Bergen - and the route to Mt. Ulriken. If you feel fit and have 4 - 5 hours to spare, you can hike from Ulriken along Vidden - the mountain plateau between Mt Ulriken and Mt Fløyen. From Fløyen you can take the famous funicular railway, Fløibanen, down to the city centre - or just walk downhill along a good road.
